The membership grades for the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science consists of FELLOW MEMBER or FELLOWSHIP, SENIOR MEMBER, FULL MEMBER (referred to as MEMBER), ASSOCIATE MEMBER, and GRADUATE MEMBER.

Fellow Member or Fellowship

The Institute awards Fellowship grade to:

• Senior Members of the Institute who have been Members for a minimum of 3 years and are regular at the Institute’s Conferences and Workshops including the Mandatory Professional Training Programme (MPTP).

• Individuals who have a minimum of 10 years top management experience in reputable organizations and have been a Full Member for not less than 5 years.

• Nominated Individual achievers in the private or public sector who are found worthy at the discretion of the Executive Committee and Council on the recommendation of the Membership Committee and approved by the Governing Board.

• Those who have distinguished themselves as professionals in their chosen fields particularly disaster security and safety, and must prove that he/she has occupied a top management position for not less than 5 years and with qualifications like M.Sc., MBA and Ph.D in all fields of endeavour.

Senior Member

Applicants must possess a minimum of Masters Degree in any discipline with at least 7 years of post qualification experience or a Bachelor degree or HND with at least 10 years of post qualification experience.

Note that a Masters degree or Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster security safety and related subjects is an added advantage.

Full Member or Member

Applicants must possess a minimum of Bachelor degree or HND in any discipline with at least 5 years of post qualification experience.

Note that a first degree or HND holder with experience in Disaster, Security and Safety is an added advantage.

FEES:N60,000.00

Associate Member

Applicants must possess at least a Bachelor degree or HND in any discipline with at least 3 years work experience.

Note that a first degree or HND holder with experience in Disaster, Security and Safety is an added advantage.

FEES: N45,000.00

Graduate Member

This is applicable to Applicants with Bachelor Degree/HND or its equivalent in any discipline but with little or no work experience. Undergraduates pursuing a first degree or HND in Disaster, Medicine, Engineering, Security, Sociology, Criminology and related subjects with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) not below Upper division may also be considered.

NYSC Membership: This is applicable to NYSC corp Members still in service

Affiliate Membership:- 

Affiliate members are companies or individuals with functional working relationship with the Institute.

FEES: N200,000.00
